That’s a tall order for your busy day, isn’t it?!I surrender all. It’s tough to do when everyone and everything almost everywhere is nagging for your undivided attention. It could be at the office, it could be at home in the mornings before school, it could be in the evening, trying to corral the family for dinner, it could be getting up for church on Sunday morning.
It happens to me at work. I’ve got my day all planned with projects lined up and just as I start in, there suddenly arrives a memo with ASAP scribbled on the top. It means “Please do this as soon as possible” or “Please answer... please telephone, please compose, or please write this as soon as possible.” Whatever it is, I feel this compunction to stop everything I’m doing and “get it done” ASAP.
Well, this morning, just as I was about to start my projects all lined up, someone placed in front of me a memo with an ASAP on it, except this “ASAP” was quite different. It gave a whole new meaning to those four little letters and it went:
There’s work to do, deadlines to meet,
you’ve got no time to spare, but as you hurry and scurry,
Always say a prayer.
In the midst of family chaos, “quality time” is rare.
Do your best; let God do the rest:
Always say a prayer.
It may seem like your worries are more than you can bear.
Slow down and take a breather --
Always say a prayer.
God knows how stressful life is; He wants to ease our cares,
and He’ll respond A.S.A.P.
Always Say A Prayer
Now isn’t that a new twist on ASAP?! Should a memo cross your path today, and should it have on it those four little letters, take a hint. Take a breath and before you charge ahead, say a prayer.
